Some people leave a wake of garbage in their path. Reminds me of Pigpen from Charlie Brown .
Andrew Breitbart spoke at Madison, Wisconsin yesterday to approximately 3,500 Tea Party and Pro-Walker people. They were there to do their darndest to match the numbers of Progressives, workers, and students that have rallied since last week February 14 against Scott Walker’s union-busting “Budget Repair Bill”.
Now there are rumors left behind to dispel. Picking up garbage is something we thought we’d have to do after receiving 60,000 visitors. But this?: A doctored video and various that say doctors have been/are writing false sick notes for workers.
I guess I should not be surprised. Breitbart is the guy who did that doctored fake Acorn video. This is the guy who edited a video of USDA official Shirley Sherrod to make it seem as if she were a racist, when in fact she was explaining how she had come to see the world without a racist tinge. (She recently filed a lawsuit against him, by the way.)
What can I say? Mr. Breitbart has civil rights and free speech and he can say what he desires. But please consider the source, and know what Mr. Breitbart’s dark arts are before you jump to believing his fabrications.
And in general-please question rumors. What a silly thing to have to come out and say to grown-ups, but there it is.
I am posting an account from a friend who made a point of visiting as many tables as he could on the day Breitbart was here and he also made a point of observing his crew. He strongly believes that Breitbart lied. Please read his account.

I’m not posting his name out of concern for the disinformation that Breitbart has spread in the past and his shady tactics. I am also blocking out the twitter identities of those folks he cites out of respect for privacy. Their tweets are public, but this blog is not the original platform for their communication:
“I would like to start by saying I am a non-union small businessman who went to Wisconsin because I felt it was important to show solidarity with the working middle class. The issue at hand is about the right to bargain as a group but what it has become for the right wing is a way to demagogue the unions and crushes the last large block of monetary support for the Democratic Party.
I was part of this civil protest both Thursday and Saturday. I drove for 3 hours to be part of this most dynamic form of Democracy; the right to peacefully assemble. I brought my camera and have more than 300 different shots from every perspective I could find. I talked with people from many different parts of Wisconsin.
Thursday gatherings had a more local flavor as most were people who worked at the school districts or were city and state workers that lived close to the area. Saturday was a completely different feel. People had gathered from all parts of the state to rally with their union brothers and sisters but also many were there to support the war perpetrated on the middle class. I marched the perimeter of the capitol.
I was on every corner surveying the scene in great awe. I visited the many tables set up the local unions and signed many petitions to voice my concerns over the states complete disregard of a unions right to collectively bargain for wages and benefits. Saturday also was the day the teaparty fronted by an outsider Mr. Breitbart decided to show up. He had his rally and most of the revelers left together down John Nolan Blvd. to an undisclosed parking garage where I assume they were bussed off.
I actually found myself in heated debates with some of the tea party movement left behind but was shuffled off when I overstayed my welcome. I noticed every group, only 25 each, had both a videographer and a defensive blocker to usher hecklers away.
I tried to get to the main group, but as I usually do, I opened my mouth at the staged area and they would not let me pass. I noticed many armed police surrounding the area with roving eyes to mitigate any violent disruptions so I did not press.
I do have video of some of the groups who may have had some vulgar signage but did not provoke the protestors. When I came back home I went right to my computer and started to upload my pictures. I stumbled on a conversation between @s***, @k***, and @st*** about doctors being at the rally signing excuse sickness notes for state employees to go back to work on Tuesday.
I looked at some of the links of these doctors who were signing at the rally. I did not see any of this going on and I took alarm so I voiced my opinion to Mr. St***. He poo poo’d it as he said he was convinced this could not be a hoax because Andrew Breitbart himself had received a note and the video was on-line.
There was even a fox news cast with (2) teachers talking about how they were approached to receive a note. I would like to state unequivocally, there was not a table set up with doctors writing notes.
This is how the twitter conversation went:
St*** That’s a very interesting observation, @1*** — hadn’t thought of it that way.
Sh*** .@1*** So glad you are there. We need those first hand accounts.
Reply Retweet Sh*** RT @1***: .@Sh*** thr wr tables set up by unions 2 sign petitions, thr was even socialist group but i was at each 1 of them, no doctors!
Reply Retweet K*** @1*** were you able to get on the side where the TPers were?
Reply Retweet St*** @1*** You’d be surprised — plenty of people have no idea who he is.
St*** I believe you’re telling the truth on that. I think there may have been stuff you didn’t see. It’s all provable, though @1***
Reply Retweet Reply Retweet St*** Yes, I know people on boths sides videotape everything, everywhere. That doesn’t prove anything or either side. @1***
Reply Retweet St*** Okay, I believe you didn’t see it but what about the video and the note. Did you see that? @1***
Reply Retweet St*** I still make fun of @AndrewBreitbart — ask him if I called him ***** on the radio. I’m vicious to him. Horrible! @co*** @1***
Reply Retweet St*** Okay — so you’re saying the people with video and notes from doctors…those are all fake? Because that seems provable @1***
Reply Retweet co*** .@1*** Believe it or not… there was a day when @St*** made fun of people like @AndrewBreitbart …
Reply Retweet K*** @1*** i totally know it is, wrote a post on it. you saw?
Reply Retweet St*** What do you mean? Photos and videos of what? I’m just trying to figure out what people are talking about. What’s the scam?
@1*** @1*** explain it to me; I don’t get what is going on w/ that doctor bs.
Reply Retweet h*** RT @1***: inspired again today, people who had nothing to do w/unions showed up to support their middle class!! #wiunion #notmywi #p2
Reply Retweet @i@ V @1***: Asked this gentleman straight out if @andrewbreitbart was buying his lunch today! I was shuffled off! http://twitpic.com/41n3ld
My contention was this was a staged act. I have been contacted by people in the medical profession who have told me that this could not occur.”
Hi, Colleagues: just wanted to let you know that us union folks in NYC are holding a second support rally on Tuesday at 5 pm in front of FOX News on 6th Avenue.
Also, just another point–while I understand why folks are saying that they’d be willing to give monetary concessions if collective bargaining is preserved, we’ve let the debate slide away from the central point: there is no debt or deficit “crisis”, in any state or at the federal level, if we demanded that the rich pay their fair share. See It’s Not Raining, We’re Getting Peed On: the Scam of the Deficit Crisis
If any doctor sees a patient, they are not allowed to divulge the particulars of that visit whether it be from stress related causes or lack of sleep or whatever. They have to abide by patient-doctor confidentiality.
