From the article entitled, “State Dem leader: Mary Burke could be frontrunner, clear the field”:
“Harris said Tate told him Wednesday that he would prefer not to have a contested primary so that the top Democratic candidate could start raising money as soon as possible. But Tate didn’t put any pressure on him to stay out of the race, Harris said.
Burke made a similar argument to Harris when they recently met for the first time, he said.”
And from the same article:
“State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, is also considering a run. She didn’t immediately respond to an interview request Wednesday, but she has said she won’t make a decision until next year.”
I’m not surprised to hear that Sen. Vinehout is still open to running against Walker. It seems like she has never stopped slowly and surely building her brand around the state.
For example, she’s in Milwaukee tomorrow. From an email sent to me by Sen. Chris Larson’s office:
“Hope you are doing well and enjoying these last few days of summer. Before summer is done, I want to personally invite you to join me Thursday at Paddy’s Pub on Milwaukee’s East Side.
Kathleen is one of the strongest advocates in Wisconsin for a strong, balanced education system, making sure the little guy in our state has a chance, and is always standing up for her community in western Wisconsin. For those of you that have met her, you know she is one of the sharpest elected officials in our state. For those of you that have not, I hope you can make it to see for yourself.
