In retirement announcement Senator Tim Cullen says ‘leadership’ dominates and runs elections

There’s the headline:  Tim Cullen to retire from Wisconsin Senate

I’m puzzled by this quote:  “Today leadership dominates and runs elections,” Cullen said Thursday. “You cross leadership at your own peril.”

Who is ‘leadership’?  Mike Tate?  Or the people who write the checks? Or…?

What the heck.  If he’s returning to private life he should throw caution to the wind and name the oligarchs.

  1. I lost all respect for Cullen a couple decades ago when he accepted a cabinet appointment from Tommy Thompson, which deprived the Democrats of one vote in the Senate, and then parlayed that promotion into a lucrative private sector job.
