Photos and video: Protest of Scott Walker at Nakoma Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin • August 30, 2014

Yesterday about 30 or so protesters greeted Scott Walker backers as they arrived at Madison’s Nakoma Country Club for a $500-a-ticket fundraiser.

These friends of Walker are striving wanna-be-elites unlike the true elite that Walker promised anonymity (and most assuredly MORE to) back in 2011 and 2012 when Wisconsin Club for Growth and Walker ran their donation laundering operation (Totally legit, says Walker. But not in operation NOW, says Walker).

As drivers of BMWs, Mercedes, Cadillacs, Buicks and one (gasp!) Subaru Forester drove into the club lot, We The Non-corporate People greeted them with chants and sarcastic megaphoned remarks such as “Please leave your donations here”. I didn’t stay for the whole thing, but this much I witnessed: Walker snuck into a back entrance, there were no uniformed cops, the only conflict was sneering behind car windows and a man who walked by and said that John Erpenbach’s dad golfs there (Ohmigosh!! #sarcasm).

I have photos at my flickr album.

The nifty video of the event with a Learning Curve soundtrack below the photos is by Rebecca Kemble.

The protest seems to have been organized primarily by People For the American Away (PFAW).
